5 Tips You Need to Remember When Layering Jewellery

One of the remarkable things about jewellery is that you can layer them to create unique looks. Whether you're looking to add a little extra something to your outfit or want to make a bold statement, layering jewellery is a great way to do it.

Layering jewellery is also one of the best ways to show off your personal style. But, if you've never done it before, it can be a little daunting. We have written five tips to encourage you to get started:

1. Start with a Base Layer

A good foundation is key when layering jewellery. Start with a few basic pieces that you can build upon. Something that will add a bit of interest but won't be too overwhelming  like a simple necklace or a cuff bracelet.

2. Add a Second Layer

This can be a choker or a statement necklace. The key is to choose something that compliments the first layer but doesn't compete with it.

When layering necklaces, stick to layering necklaces only. If you choose bracelets, then stick with layering them. That way, you can avoid over-accessorising your outfit.

3. Choose Your Accent Pieces

These are the pieces that will really make your layered look unique. Think about adding some dainty rings or earrings.  A brightly coloured necklace or pair of earrings can add some interest to your look.

4. Don't Be Afraid to Mix Metals

One of the great things about layering jewellery pieces is mixing and matching different metals. So, if you have a silver necklace, you can pair it with a gold bracelet. Mixing and matching beads, stone and leather can also create a cool effect.

Make sure to vary the necklaces you wear. For example, wear pearls and diamonds with a lengthy gold chain. You can also layer bracelets by mixing jewel bracelets with delicate bangles and woven-fabric bracelets.

If you want to layer rings, consider wearing a spectacular diamond ring with a plain metal band and a delicate ring with an eye-catching form.

Combining traditional elements like diamonds or gold with interesting and novel elements like ball chains, animal charms, or geometric forms is one of the exciting aspects of experimenting with various fashions. In the end, you want the ensemble to capture the cool, funky girl that you are!

5. Above All, Have Fun!

Layering jewellery doesn't have rules and is all about expressing your personal style. So, don't feel afraid and limited but explore and have fun with it instead!

If you're thinking about adding a bit of extra pizazz to your outfit, layering jewellery is a great way to do it! There are a few points to remember when you're layering, though. This article discussed some things like starting with a base layer, tips on adding a second layer and complimenting with accents and pop colours.

Finally and most importantly, don't be afraid to mix different types of jewellery. Mix and match necklaces, bracelets and earrings to create a look that's truly unique to you.
